When gardening, it is important to be protected from the harsh rays of the sun. Many gardeners prefer to wear a wide brimmed hat to protect their face and head. Sunglasses will also protect against damage to the eyes. It is also a good idea to wear sunscreen. Even if one is wearing long sleeves, the sun can still penetrate and damage the skin.

Joints must also be considered while working. Repetitive injuries can occur from performing the same motion repeatedly over a period of time. Tasks like weeding and pruning will lead to stress on the joints if not done properly. Look for equipment that has an ergonomic design. This will alleviate some of the strain. Adjust the movement so it is not always the same. This can be done by switching hands or changing the standing position. If gardening from a seated position, consider using a mat, knee pads, or a portable bench. These tools will allow for a better posture, which will help prevent injury to the upper body.

While it is easy to get caught up in the work, take time to relax. Allow for a few moments of stretching every half hour or so. Keeping a bottle of water nearby is also a great idea. It is easy to get dehydrated while gardening on a hot day. Taking a quick break will not waste time, and it will allow for more productivity in the long run.lawn moles too

What is “Tax Exempt’ and how do I become tax exempt?   Tax exempt status provides complete relief to certain individuals and even some corporations that could become potential taxpayers.  There are various systems that offer tax exemptions to certain people, income brackets, property and even organizations.
Exemptions can also be given in the form of monetary exemptions that can be claimed when you file yearly income taxes in the form of a credit or deduction. Examples of such persons would be students, clergy as well as extra large families, with more than a certain number of children.  These tax exemptions are not just arbitrarily given, but there is a requirement that must be met, and may not necessarily be relative to that particular tax situation. Exemptions refer to being excused legally from taxation in particular circumstances or class. It can also be extended for certain income(s) and income situations.   Some exclusions are extended to income earned outside the United States, unless you are in the military, however that may be based on limited amounts. Income that compensates for loss, and the inherited property or acquired gift value can also be excluded.

No matter what the exemption may be, your due diligence and research is definitely a must. Just because something may be exempt on the state level does not necessarily mean that it is exempt on the federal level and vice versa. Since state laws vary from state to state, laws will vary as well. If you move from a state that allowed for certain exemptions, that you qualified for, check and check again to make sure your current state allows for your same exemption.  Don’t stop there, make sure you meet that states qualifications also.  If your research still leaves you unsure contact your states tax office before you file.

Tax Prep

When should you start preparing to file your taxes? You should start preparing at the beginning of each year.  Do you remember [if you itemized] trying to find all of your receipts, mileage logs and bank statements when it was time to schedule your appointment last year.  Even if you didn’t itemize, when you started thinking about all of the charitable contributions, business trips, relocation expenses and college tuition information, the thought of “I wonder if I could or should have itemized” definitely entered your thoughts.  How much money didn’t you get, that you could have gotten, if you itemized instead of taking the standard deduction.

Start the New Year off right.  Not with just a New Year’s resolution but with a new tax preparation system.  There are many options available for you, from the very basic to some costing upwards of 500 to 1000 dollars.
Start off by visiting stores that sell computer software, office supplies and stationary. Purchase an accordion folder, a mileage and toll log book and a record book. If you are an organizational type person this will be easy for you.

For those who think this is too time consuming as well as one who hates having that much paper accumulating, there are apps on the smart phones that can be used to take pictures of the receipt and sort them into categories storing them on your sim card for safe keeping.  Another option is to use your computer scanner and store them on your computes hard drive.  With either of these methods you need to have a folder set up to send receipts to, making them easy to find when tax time nears.
No matter which method you choose, just choose one and get started.  Organize now or agonize later. The choice is yours.

Just don’t get mixed up in corporate greed.
